Program Objectives:

  2. Learn how to manage and oversee the work of junior radiation protection technicians.
  3. Understand how to ensure appropriate protective measures are in place and work is carried out safely.Learn how to control and manage radioactively contaminated materials.
  4. Know how to collect air and water samples and analyze data.Learn how to take corrective action when necessary.
  5. Understand how to respond to unexpected conditions and emergencies.Know how to maintain accurate records of radiation levels and procedures.
  6. Understand how to communicate radiation safety information to plant personnel.


Program Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering, radiation protection, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiation protection.In-depth knowledge of radiation protection procedures and regulations.Proficiency in using radiation survey instruments and analytical equipment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Certification:

Completion of the Senior Radiation Protection Technician Training Program.
